Samsung recently announced the release of their Galaxy S25 lineup, which brings in a few subtle changes to the existing, last-gen S24 lineup. The big focus this time around, seems to be centered around AI technologies – which has now been upgraded with context specific capabilities.
It’s not all just AI though, and there do exist a few changes to the overall design language and specifications, particularly with regards to the RAM.
More on these changes in the sections below.
Samsung S25 lineup upgrades RAM across all models

Perhaps the biggest upgrade this time around would be the bump in RAM amount from 8 GB to 12 GB – across all models. Even the base version of the S25 gets a nice 4 GB ram increase to bring it up to modern standards.
This base model still comes equipped with only 128 GB of internal storage though, and the lack of a 256 GB baseline is still kind of unfortunate.
AI oriented updates and capabilities
For starters, the AI assistant has been entirely reworked to feature Google’s Gemini instead of Samsung’s usual Bixby. The onboard AI has also seen some massive improvements in its capabilities, boasting features such as:
- Call Transcribing
- Writing Assist
- Drawing Assist
The biggest addition though, is the personalization of the AI experience. Samsung and Gemini can create curated ‘Now Brief’ moments for you, collating experiences based on your usage patterns.
On-board computational data is supposedly stored and protected by Samsung’s Knox service. How much of this is on-device remains to be seen though.
Subtle changes to the design language
Another slight change would be in the design language, which definitely has a more boxy, iPhone-like feel. Gone are the curved corners (which were admittedly very muted in the S24 lineup), and the device in general should feel a lot more pointy and grippable.
Besides this change, everything looks to be about the same across the S24 and S25 models.
