Nexon has announced the arrival of Hailey, the 16th character in their ever expanding roster in The First Descendant. The game will be stepping into its first season on August 29, and will bring a vast amount content to the game.
Apart from brand new boss fights and new storyline content, the upcoming patch will also introduce a new Descendant called Hailey, so here’s everything that the developers have revealed about it so far.
The First Descendant Hailey release date
Hailey, the new Descendant is set to go live on August 29 along with the Season 1 update. She’ll be the 16th character to join the roster, so it’ll be interesting to see her origin story and the abilities that she brings to the table.
The First Descendant Hailey abilities
- Cryo Round: Cryo Round: Fires multiple Cryo Rounds at enemies to deal damage and inflict “Cryo.” Enemies inflicted with “Cryo” receive additional damage from Hailey’s firearm attacks.
- Storm Snare: “Knocks back” enemies with a “Chill Vortex” and fires a giant Freezing Beam. Hit enemies are inflicted with “Cryo.”
- Cold Fury: Grants “Cold Fury” to herself every second. While in the “Cold Fury” state, her Movement Speed gradually decreases, but her Firearm Penetration and Critical Hit Rate for Firearms and Skills all increase significantly. Once “Cold Fury” reaches maximum stacks, she becomes immune to “Knockdown” and her Firearm and Skill Critical Hit Damage increases.
- Zenith: Equips her “Unique Weapon.” When attacking with the “Unique Weapon,” greatly increases Penetration and Firearm ATK and deals additional Chill skill damage. Recovers MP upon attacking Weak Points. When the “Unique Weapon” skill ends, decreases the Cooldown of the skill depending on the number of bullets.
- [Passive Skill] Safe Strategic Retreat: The “Weak Point Damage” decreases when attacking nearby enemies, and increases when attacking distant enemies.
How to unlock Hailey in The First Descendant
To unlock Hailey, you’ll need to first get your hands on her code and the blueprints for her components. Once you’ve got the blueprints, you’ll have to craft the components first before you can finally craft this Descendant.

Apart from the aforementioned farming route, you can also clear Invasion dungeons to get your hands on these items faster. Clearing an Invasion Dungeon in The First Descendant will drop atleast one research material from the list above.
Clearing the Invasion Dungeon faster will give you a chance to acquire three different research materials at once.
That said, Hailey is more likely to be a crowd control/DPS hybrid, and has the potential to be an S-tier Descendant just like Bunny in The First Descendant.
