Valby abilities in The First Descendant

Valby excels at dealing AoE damage with DoT effects. Her skills revolve around creating puddles of water and inflicting the Laundry status effect on enemies. She is also quite mobile and certain abilities will let her zip around the field to help her position better and damage more enemies at the same time.

Here is a list of all of her abilities:

Skill NameDescription
Water Intake (Passive)When using skills while standing on water, she consumes less Mana
Bubble BulletBounces a Bubble Bullet forward to create a small puddle where the Bubble Bullet impacts and where she stands.
Enemies in the small puddle take continuous damage and are inflicted with Laundry.
Plop PlopCreates a large puddle where she is standing, then dives in. Valby then pops out at a selected location in the large puddle.
Enemies in the large puddle take continuous damage and are inflicted with Laundry
Clean UpValby becomes Liquefied. While Liquefied, she cannot take her feet off of the ground or use skills, but she can move through enemies and her Movement Speed and DEF increase.
When moving while Liquefied, she creates a path of water that deals continuous damage to enemies and inflicts Laundry.
Laundry BombChanges the weapon equipped for the Launcher.
When the Launcher is fired, a Bomb is created, pulling in enemies inflicted with Laundry and dealing continuous damage.

  • Materialized Phase: Boost to Non-Attribute and Dimension type

How to play Valby in The First Descendant

Positioning is key when it comes to mastering Valby in Nexon‘s shooter. Your goal will be to make as many puddles in the arena as possible and use them to inflict the Laundry status effect on enemies while reducing the mana cost of your abilities.

You will need to keep moving around the battlefield, which makes Valby ability-reliant. You will have to keep using her Plop Plop, Clean Up, and Bubble Bullet to inflict Laundry on as many enemies as possible. Once you have 8 or more enemies with the effect, Valby’s Laundry Bomb skill will get a 200% damage boost.

However, while she is amazing at crowd-clear, Valby lacks proper single-target damage. She is also quite squishy, and you will need to make the most of her mobility tools to survive longer in an encounter.

Here are some of the pros and cons of mining Valby in The First Descendant:

Pros:

  • Has one of the best AoE crowd-clear tools in the game.
  • Highly mobile and can re-position herself easily.
  • Excels at both burst and AoE damage.
  • Has a great balance between offense and defense.

Cons:

  • Lacks proper single-target burst.
  • Quite squishy which makes her difficult to master for new players.
