10 Monsters that should come back with Monster Hunter Wilds

After having gained a new generation of fans with Monster Hunter World, all eyes are on Monster Hunter Wilds, for it is one of the most anticipated titles coming out next year. The game has received multiple trailers and gameplay previews during Gamescom.

Although Capcom has yet to reveal any returning monsters to the franchise, here are some of the monsters that we feel should come back in Monster Hunter Wilds.

Monsters who need to make a return with Monster Hunter Wilds

10) Garangolm

Garangolm

Monster Hunter Wilds would be the perfect game to bring back this Monster, introduced in Monster Hunter Rise- Sunbreak expansion. Garangolm is a docile monster in general but when enraged it can fight back hard with gauntlets made out of Molten rock and mossy earth.

The Fanged Beast was inspired by gorillas and more accurately King-Kong, and should be the next ape monster to get some spotlight and give the likes of Rajang a bit of rest.

9) Gigginox

Gigginox

Gigginox might be a weird choice for many, but we feel like this flying wyvern could get some of the spotlight that Khezu usually gets. Introduced in Monster Hunter 3 this monster usually dwells inside dark caverns.

Both Khezu and Gigginox are usually accompanied by an unsettling and eerie atmosphere when it comes to hunting them.

Knowing Capcom and their recent success in the horror genre with Resident Evil games, we might get some special horror sequences if this monster does return in Monster Hunter Wilds.

8) Alatreon

Alatreon

This Elder Dragon with backward-facing horns was introduced in Monster Hunter 3 and became a favorite for newcomers to the Franchise in Monster Hunter World.

Alatreon is one of the more challenging monsters to fight in the franchise, being able to control and switch between different elements.

We feel like Aletreon would be a perfect throwback challenge for both old and new hunters alike. With the new weather system in Monster Hunter Wilds, Capcom can make a real spectacle out of this hunt.

7) Malfestio

Malfestio

One of the more beautiful-looking monsters we feel should return is Malfestio. This bird Wyvern was clearly inspired by owls but sadly only existed in Monster Hunter Generations.

We feel like this nocturnal monster is one of the few wyverns that is not generally considered by many as an important monster that should appear again, but has its own niche fans who would love to see it again.

6) Zamtrios

Zamtrios

Zamtrios was an amphibious monster introduced in Monster Hunter 4 and has gained a lot of fans over the years.

A lot of players expected the monster to appear in the Iceborn expansion for Monster Hunter World, as it was the perfect setting for a monster that inhabits the icy biomes.

Fans were once again let down in Monster Hunter Rise because the younger and much smaller version of the monster, Zamite appeared in the game and yet there were no signs of Zamtrios. Players hope that Monster Hunter Wilds will be the game that finally brings this monster back.

5) Dalamadur

Dalamadur

It is one of the largest Elder Dragons to have ever existed in terms of sheer length. This serpentine monster, coiling around the speartip craig and being able to summon meteors was a memorable fight for many Monster Hunter 4 players.

Dalamadur also appeared in Monster Hunter World in the rotten vale sections but as corpses. Fans wish the monster appeared again in Monster Hunter Wilds but this time as a proper Elder Dragon that can be hunted.

4) Gore Magala/Shagaru Magala

Gora Magala Shagaru Magala

Another monster introduced in Monster Hunter 4, this immature elder dragon and its adult counterpart became an instant favorite of the fans.

The monster was unique for having some of the most memorable traits any flagship monster ever had in these games.

It was introduced as a proper antagonist in opposition to the player hunter and was famous for inflicting other monsters with the frenzy virus. Although it did not come back in World, fans were happy to see the monster return in Rise and hope for the same in Monster Hunter Wilds.

3) Ahtal-Ka

Ahtal-Ka

Probably the single most interesting and important monster that ever appeared in the franchise but sadly not many in a lot of games.

At first glance, Athal-Ka looks like a regular insect-like monster but once you begin the hunt you find that there’s more than meets the eye.

Athal-Ka uses silk binds and scrap metals to fight and has several unique phases. In one of which it can pull out the Ahtal-Neset from the ground, which is a giant towering puppet that it can control almost similar to a mech. Monster Hunter Wilds would be the perfect game to bring back this Neopteron and present the new generation with a spectacular hunt.

2) Gammoth

Gammoth

Gammoth is the largest fanged wyvern to have ever walked with no male counterpart. These monsters share a hostile relationship with Tigerx, being constantly at war with them since Tigerx preys on younger Gammoths.

They are unique for having a design clearly inspired by Woolly Mammoths, which unfortunately was never seen again in any of the modern Monster Hunter games. Fans wish for Gammoth to return in Monster Hunter Wilds as it would be the perfect game to reintroduce their everlasting war with Tigerx in turf wars.

1) Lagiacrus

Lagiacrus

This Sea Wyvern was introduced in Monster Hunter 3 holding the title of ‘The Lord of the Seas’. The prototype build of Monster Hunter world originally was shown to have the monster until it was cut from development due to issues with the animations.

Since underwater combat has never made a comeback in the recent titles, it has become harder to implement this monster into the games.

With Monster Hunter Wilds running on the new RE Engine, fans are expecting Capcom to give it another shot at bringing back the monster.
