How to increase and restore armor in Warhammer 40K Space Marine 2

Armor in the brand-new action game Warhammer 40K Space Marine 2 will vanish in a matter of minutes when you are up against tough bosses and swarms of Tyranids. And if you don’t replenish your armor quickly, you’ll possibly go down or succumb to Mortal Wound.

So, armor holds a lot of importance on the battlefield, and if you find yourself in a situation where you need to restore or increase it, here’s how you do it.

How to increase armor in Warhammer 40K Space Marine 2

While you cannot permanently increase the armor of any class in-game, you can temporarily increase it. To do that, you’ll have to find an item in-game called Armor Boost. This item sometimes drops from the destroyed boxes in the environment or is hidden in an off-beat path.

It is worth noting that from my experience, Armor Boost is only available in the Operations PvE campaign of Warhammer 40k Space Marine 2. There isn’t any proper or definitive way to increase Titus’s armor in the campaign storyline. In that case, you are stuck with only two Armor Shards.

You will see that your character’s armor shard will deplete quickly in any difficulty. Fortunately, there are multiple ways to replenish armor in-game to keep things fair and straightforward.

  • The easiest way to replenish armor is to perform execution against the enemies. When you see a Tyranid flashing in red, simply go and execute them. Executing the smaller one restores half of an armor bar, while executing the bigger Tyranid replenishes a full bar.
  • Whenever you are outside of combat, you will replenish your armor bars automatically. You don’t require any additional input from yourself for this one. Take a breather after defeating the enemies, and your armor will replenish.
  • If you are playing Operations, and if you or your team member uses the Bulwark class, the class’s unique ability regenerates armor. It is called Chapter Banner, and while it has a long cooldown, it is a good class and skill.
  • If you are playing PvP in Warhammer 40k Space Marine 2, your armor regenerates much quicker if you are farther away from your opponents. Furthermore, avoiding incoming damage for a few moments will replenish your armor quickly.

It is worth noting that Space Marine 2 is a very straightforward game, so you don’t have to do multiple mental gymnastics to figure out the methods. As long as you execute the Tyranids, you’ll pretty much never run out of armor.
