How to farm Yaoguai Cores in Black Myth Wukong
There are three ways in total by which you will be able to get more Yaoguai Cores in Black Myth Wukong:
1) Defeating stronger enemies in Yellow Wind Ridge
One of the most reliable, and perhaps the best way of passively farming Yaoguai Cores is to beat normal as well as harder enemies in Yellow Wind Ridge. While smaller enemies have a pretty low drop chance of the resource, the stronger ones that prowl the area have a very high drop rate for it.
So if you are in need of some staff upgrades, you might want to go around defeating the elite mobs in Yellow Wind Ridge. You can take your time with it, and even die a couple of times if need be as Black Myth Wuking does not come with a Death Penalty like other souls-like games.
2) Opening chests in Yellow Wind Ridge
Another way of obtaining Yaoguai Cores will be to open chests and pots around Yellow Wind Ridge. There will be a fair number of them as you explore the region, so make sure you are hitting as many of them as you can while looking to complete the narrative and other side content.
3) Purchasing it from the Yellow Wind Ridge Shrine shop
Keeper’s Shrines in Black Myth Wukong come with their own shops that sell various resources ranking from Curios to even upgrade materials like the Yaoguai Cores. However, the items that the Shrines hold will depend on the region that the Shrine is located.
Only the ones that are located in Yellow Wind Ridge will contain Yaoguai Cores in their shop. So if you have the Will you can use it to purchase the upgrade material. However, we will recommend against it, and keep the Will that you have collected to use it on things that actually matter.
