Hefty Fire Pots and Hefty Furnace Pots are two consumables in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree that can come in handy while dealing with the Furnace Golems in the Realm of Shadows.
Although, these items are not necessary to deal with these towering giants, but being able to use these items in the encounter makes the fight easier.

Where to find recipe for Hefty Fire Pots and Hefty Furnace Pots
The recipe for crafting Hefty Fire Pots and Hefty Furnace Pots in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree can be found in two different Greater Potentiate’s Cookbooks. They’re as follows:
- The Hefty Fire Pots recipe can be found in the Greater Potentiate’s Cookbook [1], which can be found in the Scorched Ruins. Inside this structure, when facing North, you’ll see a dead body on a staircase. Behind them, you’ll see a few weak enemies, so defeat them and collect the Greater Potentiate’s Cookbook [1].
- You’ll find the Hefty Furnace Pots recipe in Greater Potentiate’s Cookbook [2]. To get this, you’ll have to first make your way to the Three-Path Cross Site of Grace and then make your way to Run-Down Traveler’s Rest directly beneath Ellac Greatbridge to collect the item.
How to craft Hefty Fire Pot and Hefty Furnace Pot
To craft the Hefty Fire Pot and the Hefty Furnace Pot, you will need to get your hands on Hefty Cracked Pots amongst other materials.
These items can be found spread out all across the Shadow Realm and are pretty rare, but you’ll find three quite early on in the game.
You can find three of these items in Belurat Gaol. When you head into the structure, you will eventually come across an area where there’s a hole in the ground, and you will have to traverse the area by jumping from one pot to another.
As you navigate your way here, you’ll see a wooden platform in a corner. Land on it and you’ll find a Hefty Cracked Pot here.
The two remaining Hefty Cracked Pots you will find inside a maze here, so make sure you check every nook and cranny properly.
The other ingredients you need are as follows:
- Redflesh Mushrooms
- Black Pyreflies
- Black Smoldering Butterflies
- Ember of Messmer (Hefty Furnace Pot)
- Furnace Visage (Hefty Furnace Pot)
It’s worth noting that the last two items are needed exclusively for the Hefty Furnace Pot in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree, so here’s where you can find them.
Where to find Ember of Messmer and Furnace Visage in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree
As the name suggests, the Furnace Visage can be acquired by defeating Furnace Golems in Elden Ring. Considering that these are the primary source for this ingredient, the Furnace Visages are limited in the Realm of Shadows.
The Ember of Messmer, on the other hand, can be found in the Scadu Atlus region only, so make sure you check out all areas carefully.
How to use Hefty Fire Pots and Hefty Furnace Pots
Using these Hefty Fire Pots and Hefty Furnace Pots in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree is restricted to the Furnace Golem fights in the Realm of Shadows.
When you manage to stagger the Golems and bring them down to their knees, you can toss these pots into the cages on their heads for a massive chunk of damage.
