Trading between players has been temporarily disabled in Diablo 4 Season 5, due to a possible duplication glitch. While Season of the Infernal Hordes has had a strong start, the new update has been riddled with a couple of performance issues with the duplication glitch being the latest addition to the list.
In an RPG where the primary end-game loop revolves around farming for the
for your characters, having a trading glitch that duplicates items and crafting resources was bound to break the game.
Hence, it’s not surprising that Blizzard decided to temporarily disable trading in Diablo 4. In the latest forum update, the developer team stated the following:
“We will be disabling trading in Diablo IV while we investigate a possible duplication issue. We apologize for the disruption and will provide updates on when we will have trading available again once we further investigate and identify any issues we need to resolve.”
When will trading be available again in Diablo 4 Season 5?
Unfortunately, there is yet to be any official information on when trading will be available in Diablo 4 again. Duplication glitches can cause series issues for the end-game loop, and Blizzard is likely going to take their time addressing the problem.
These glitches can also destroy th entire game’s economy, and players will have nothing to work toward once they reach World Tier 4 in the Seasonal Journey.
You can track the official Diablo 4 Twitter page for more information on the matter as Blizzard usually updates players on any major changes or issues that are going on in the game. Once they come up with a fix, they are going to patch in the new update to deal with the duplication glitch issue.
It’s not likely to take more than a couple of days for the developers to re-enable trading again in Diablo 4.
