What is the Public Test Realm in Diablo 4?

A Public Test Realm or PTR is a specific realm like the Eternal and the Seasonal Realms. However, the only difference is that in here, you will be able to test some of the features that are set to go live in the game.

It’s also worth noting that the features in the PTR in Diablo 4 may or may not come to the game based on the feedback they receive from the players.

The Diablo 4 Season 5 PTR is scheduled to go live on December 3 and will last until December 10 as mentioned during the latest Campfire Chat, and in the official blog post.

During this period, you will be able to try out some of the new features that are coming to the game in Season 7, including new activities and quests.

How to play the Diablo 4 PTR

To access the Public Test Realm in Diablo 4, you need to own the game on Battle.net. While you won’t have to download anything afresh, you will have to select the PTR server by clicking on the cog wheel beside the play button on the Battle.net launcher.

Whatever item drops you receive in this realm will not carry over to your characters in the Seasonal or the Eternal Realm.
