1) Join your friends after connecting to a “Recent Players” lobby
According to the Reddit post, one neat trick that you can try to solve the version error is to join a recent player’s lobby. You can do this from the ‘Recent Players’ hub in the Social tab and pick any active lobby.
Once you join the random lobby, try joining the lobby that your friend has made. This will bypass the error in most cases. However, if the message pops up again, make sure to quit the random lobby immediately if you want to play with your friends.
2) Clear “Reserved Space” data (Xbox-exclusive)
