S-Rank monsters are among the most difficult creatures to track down in Final Fantasy XIV and the same is true for the Dawntrail expansion as well. While being fairly difficult to take down, these monsters also boast some of the most unusual requirements for spawning.
Here is a list of all the S-rank monsters that you will come across in Final Fantasy XIV Dawntrail and how you can spawn them.
How to spawn every S-rank Monster in Final Fantasy XIV Dawntrail
S-Rank monsters are one of the best sources for obtaining special Hunt currencies like Sacks of Nuts, Centurio, and Allied Seals. These encounters take dozens of players to take down, and you will often find the areas around the monster to be very congested zones.
You will also need to meet certain unusual conditions to be able to spawn the S-rank monsters in the MMO, however, do keep in mind that each of them comes with internal cooldowns. So once you take them down, it will take them some time to respawn.
Here is a list of all the S-rank monsters that you will find in Final Fantasy XIV Danwtrail and how you can spawn them:
1) Yak T’el

Hunt | Spawn Locations | How to Spawn |
---|---|---|
Neyoozoteel | (X:8.6, Y:20.0) (X:21.7, Y:28.9) (X:21.1, Y:36.5) (X:22.9, Y:14.4) (X:23.0, Y:28.9) (X:23.8, Y:35.3) (X:24.5, Y:13.7) (X:24.0, Y:33.5) (X:26.1, Y:9.9) (X:32.9, Y:16.5) | You will need to discard 50 Fish Meal from your inventory all at once. |
You will be able to purchase Fish Meal from Material Supplier NPCs in the residential areas. It will cost you 21 gil each, but if you have 50 of them and discard them in the spawn locations, you will be able to spawn an S-rank monster, Neyoozoteel.
2) Shaaloani

You will be able to spawn the monster directly after you have completed the “You Are What You Drink” FATE. However, you will need to match the spawn timer for it. So if you are completing the FATE when the spawn time is down, then the max you will get out of this are rare drops, XP, and Bicolor Gemstones.

Fog conditions stay for a very short time which is why you will have a very small spawn window for Kirlirger the Abhorrent. So you will need to be constantly aware of when the next foggy new moon condition is in the MMO.

How to spawn the SS rank Arch Aethereater in Final Fantasy XIV Dawntrail

The Arch Aethreater is the SS Rank Monster that you will get to go up against in Final Fantasy XIV Dawntrail. It has a 10% chance of appearing in any area on the map after defeating any S-rank monster in the Dawntrail expansion.
If you are lucky you will see that minions are spawning from the four corners of the map, and if you are able to kill them all within five minutes then you will have a 100% chance of spawning the Arch Aethereater in the zone.
The monster is one of the hardest challenges in the new expansion and will take a collective effort from everyone in the zone to take it down. But once you beat it, you will get some incredible rewards.
