Unques are the most powerful category of equipment in Path of Exile 2. While they are guaranteed to drop with some of the best modifiers and stats, Uniques are extremely rare and it’s not at all easy to obtain them in the RPG.
However, you will need them to complete your endgame build and make the most of the class that you are going for. So if you are struggling to complete content in the later stages of Path of Exile 2, here is a guide that goes how you will be able to farm Uniques.
How to get Uniques in Path of Exile 2
Here is how you will be able to farm Uniques in Path of Exile 2:
1) Take out Rare enemies and bosses
One of the most straightforward ways of obtaining Uniques in PoE 2 is to farm Bosses and Rare enemies. They have a much higher chance of dropping a high-tier item, which will occasionally include Uniques along with other Currencies.
If you want higher-tier Uniques you will need to farm bosses that are in the late-game or once you reach Cruel difficulty. The harder the boss, the better the rewards that you will get. However, if you are just starting out, the best place to farm Uniques in Act 1 will be in the Mausoleum of the Praetor.
There is a Forgotten Riches area there which contain a lot of chests that have a good chance of netting you a Unique.
If you are looking to farm Bosses, make sure to tackle the ones that are two to three levels below your own. This will allow you have an easier time farming them on repeat when you reload a new instance.
Note: Do not go to a zone that has a significantly lower level that yours. 2-3 levels are fine, but if you go any lower you will lose out on getting XP when you are farming bosses. This will have a negative impact on your progression.
2) Spend Gold at the Gambling Vendor
If you are looking for a specific Unique, the best way of obtaining it will be to spend some Gold at the Gambling Vendor. Every town will have one NPC whose inventory will have all time types which will gain randomized stats and modifiers upon purchase.
While you can purchase the type of equipment you want, you will have no control over the stats that it drops with. It will, however, have a baseline in terms of Armor, Evasion, or Energy Shield that you can pick from.
This makes Gambling for Uniques rather risky in Path of Exile 2. You can either obtain the BiS gear for your class’ build or an item that is absolutely useless. Gambling Vendors also ask for a lot of Gold in exchange, so unless you are absolutely overflowing with Gold, it’s best to avoid this method.
3) Use an Orb of Chance on Normal Items
Another way of obtaining Uniques is to use the Orb of Chance on Normal Items. The Orb is one of the rarest resources in Path of Exile 2, and when used on an item it can either upgrade it to a Unique or completely destroy it.
If it upgrades the item to a Unique, it will have all of the associated Modifiers of that item. However, the chance of getting a Unique upgrade is pretty small, and you will need RnG on your side to get what you are looking for.
You will get your hands on Chance shards as uncommon drops from enemies in almost every Act of Path of Exile 2. Orbs of Chance, on. thother hand, have a much higher rate of dropping from taking out Magic, Rare, and Boss enemies in Act 3 and Cruel difficulty.
